Role overview
This Business Mentor position supports people who are considering self-employment as well as existing small business owners who need practical guidance. The role also contributes to the delivery and ongoing improvement of a national program.
What you will do
- Help improve the national program by contributing ideas and support for better delivery.
- Work with a broad mix of stakeholders and adapt program delivery to local needs where appropriate.
- Support entrepreneurs by monitoring progress and building action plans that strengthen business sustainability.
- Organise and run events, both in person and online, to raise awareness, build referrals and generate interest in the program.
What the employer is looking for
The ideal candidate will have strong verbal and written communication ability, close attention to detail, and hands-on business experience. Suitable backgrounds include having run a business personally, supported small businesses in a coaching or consultancy role, or held a business unit management position in a large organisation. The role also requires comfort with intermediate to advanced IT work, data entry, office administration, document handling and file management, plus experience working remotely with people.
