Role overview
The Business Improvement Consultant will guide organization-wide improvement efforts aimed at boosting efficiency, strengthening operations, and supporting major transformation initiatives. The position focuses on building and refining processes that support business goals, partnering with teams across functions to identify opportunities for better performance and sustainable growth.
Education requirements
A bachelor's degree is required in healthcare management, nursing, or another healthcare science/allied health field. A master's degree is also acceptable in Nursing, Quality, Clinical, Allied Health, Administration, Business, Data, or another related healthcare, science, or management discipline.
Professional certifications
Required credentials include Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) and Project Management Professional (PMP). Additional quality-focused qualifications such as Lean Six Sigma or Just Culture are preferred.
Experience
Applicants should bring at least 16 years of experience in business improvement, continuous quality initiatives, and/or project management, preferably within a healthcare environment.
Strategic responsibilities
- Work with senior leadership to identify high-value opportunities for process enhancement that support long-term organizational goals.
- Analyze data to propose practical, innovative solutions that improve efficiency and overall effectiveness.
Operational responsibilities
- Guide cross-functional teams in finding, analyzing, and resolving complex process challenges.
- Perform detailed process reviews to uncover inefficiencies and recommend better ways of working.
- Establish and encourage standard practices for process management across the organization.
- Lead change management activities to ensure smooth adoption of new processes.
- Run benchmarking studies to measure performance against leading industry organizations.
