Hartree Partners is an international energy and commodities firm founded in 1997, headquartered in New York with offices across financial hubs including London, Singapore, and Dubai. Hartree Solutions UK Limited serves as the customer-facing entity for our wider trading operations, focusing on supplying power and gas to industrial and commercial clients. We specialize in the origination of deals that involve shaping and balancing renewable generation and operate a fleet of 175MW gas peak power assets in the UK, supplemented by third-party assets. As this sector grows rapidly, we aim to expand our supply business alongside ongoing development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, pursue, and secure new B2B customers in the industrial, commercial, and SME sectors for Hartree’s power and gas supply portfolio.
  • Manage and develop a pipeline of potential commercial and industrial clients across the UK.
  • Successfully sell fixed-price electricity and gas contracts with defined durations.
  • Engage actively with medium-sized enterprises, including hotels, data centers, and other energy-intensive businesses.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with key stakeholders such as procurement, finance, and operations decision-makers.
  • Effectively articulate Hartree’s competitive offerings and value proposition to clients.
  • Collaborate closely with internal commercial and operational teams for smooth customer onboarding processes.
  • Keep abreast of market trends and client needs to uncover new commercial opportunities.
  • Contribute to the growth and strategic development of the new business function within the company.
  • Maintain an organized contact and prospect database utilizing the HubSpot CRM system.
  • Assist in evolving marketing strategies and represent the company at relevant exhibitions, conferences, and trade events.

Success Indicators

  • Regularly generate and convert new business prospects into long-term clients.
  • Build and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified commercial customers.
  • Establish Hartree as a reliable supplier in the UK's commercial energy market.
  • Develop enduring client relationships that foster repeat business and referrals.
  • Play a critical role in advancing the company’s commercial function from its initial stages.

Required Experience and Skills

  • Proven experience selling energy supply agreements to commercial or industrial customers.
  • Demonstrated success in securing new customers and growing business.
  • Experience managing end-to-end sales processes from lead generation to contract signing.
  • Strong knowledge of the UK commercial energy market.
  • Exceptional skills in relationship building, negotiation, and communication.
  • Proficiency using CRM systems to enhance client experience and retention.
  • Self-driven with confidence to work independently in a dynamic commercial setting.
  • Comfortable adapting within a growing organization where strategies and processes are evolving.
  • Familiarity with licence-exempt supply or behind-the-meter energy solutions is a plus.
  • Commercially minded with a focus on adding customer value and supporting business growth.
