Role Overview
The position is for an experienced Business Development Executive in Surat. The role is suited to a sales professional with a strong track record in SAP ERP selling or other large ERP solutions. The job blends inside sales and field sales to create opportunities, nurture relationships, and contribute to revenue growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Use phone calls, email outreach, and other digital channels to identify and qualify potential customers.
- Develop a healthy sales pipeline by using CRM platforms and professional networks.
- Work with the marketing team to plan and run lead-generation initiatives.
- Meet prospective clients, understand their ERP needs, and propose tailored solutions.
- Build and sustain long-term relationships with customers and stakeholders.
- Represent the company at conferences, trade fairs, and other industry events.
- Convert opportunities into business and achieve or surpass assigned sales targets.
- Keep track of SAP ERP developments and market trends to position the company effectively.
- Coordinate with consulting and delivery teams to ensure smooth movement from pre-sales to implementation.
- Prepare periodic sales reports and forecasts for review by management.
Qualifications and Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related discipline is preferred; equivalent practical experience is also acceptable.
- At least 2 years of experience in SAP ERP sales or selling large-scale ERP solutions.
- Solid understanding of the ERP sales process and typical customer challenges.
- Good communication, negotiation, relationship-building, and presentation abilities.
- Hands-on experience with CRM tools and Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and perform well in a fast-moving environment.
- Willingness to travel for client meetings and industry events when needed.
- Experience with other ERP platforms such as Oracle or Microsoft Dynamics is an added advantage.
- Experience in a consulting or IT services environment is also preferred.
