Job description
About Decagon
Decagon is a conversational AI platform that helps brands create high-touch customer experiences. Its technology supports enterprise teams in delivering personalized interactions across voice, chat, email, SMS, and other customer channels for companies such as Avis Budget Group, Cash App, Square, Chime, Oura Health, and Hunter Douglas.
The company is building a future where customer support feels faster, more human, and more meaningful. It is backed by investors including a16z, Accel, Bain Capital Ventures, Coatue, and Index Ventures.
Decagon is an in-office organization with a culture centered on speed, ownership, and high standards. Its operating values include Just Get It Done, Invent What Customers Want, Winner’s Mindset, and The Polymath Principle.
About the Team
The Brand Design team defines how Decagon looks and feels to customers, partners, and the broader AI ecosystem. The team turns technical products into clear, confident, and distinctive brand experiences across campaigns, content, web, and other perception-shaping moments.
Strong taste, consistency, and conviction guide the team’s approach. Designers are expected to move quickly, think critically, develop a strong point of view, and help raise the quality bar across the brand.
About the Role
As a Brand Designer, you will help shape Decagon’s visual identity and how the company presents itself as it scales. The role blends foundational brand work with high-visibility marketing initiatives, requiring both strategic thinking and polished execution.
You will contribute to storytelling, brand differentiation, and the evolution of the design system while working across multiple touchpoints. This is a good fit for a designer who enjoys momentum, collaboration, and building a brand thoughtfully rather than only producing individual assets.
The role is intentionally broad, so you will help define what the brand can become, where it should stretch, and how to keep it coherent as it grows.
What You’ll Do
- Create and direct premium brand assets for campaigns, websites, sales collateral, videos, events, social channels, and internal communications.
- Develop and refine Decagon’s brand design system to improve consistency while exploring fresh and differentiated expressions.
- Work with brand strategy and messaging inputs, then convert them into clear, visually compelling creative.
- Apply strong systems thinking and detail orientation to layouts, concepts, and final deliverables.
- Move through iterative feedback cycles quickly across several parallel projects while keeping the output polished.
- Bring references, inspiration, and original ideas that help the brand stand out.
- Ensure quality and consistency across every brand touchpoint.
What We’re Looking For
- 4 to 6 years of experience in brand design, art direction, or marketing-focused creative roles.
- A portfolio that shows strong visual judgment, storytelling ability, and brand thinking.
- Hands-on proficiency with Figma and Adobe Creative Suite, plus curiosity about AI design models and tools.
- Experience creating assets for marketing surfaces such as websites, campaigns, presentations, events, and content.
- Solid foundations in typography, composition, color, and visual hierarchy.
- Ability to interpret briefs and produce creative that is thoughtful and on-brand.
- Comfort working in fast-moving environments with changing priorities.
Nice to Have
- Interest in technology and AI-led companies; prior AI background is not mandatory.
- Exposure to filming and editing social content.
Benefits
- Flexible vacation approach, subject to local requirements; UK employees receive 25 days of statutory leave.
- Medical, dental, and vision coverage for employees and their families.
- Life insurance and disability coverage.
- Retirement plan options such as a 401(k) or pension.
- Parental leave.
- Fertility and family-building support through Carrot.
- Daily lunch and snacks in the office.
Compensation
The salary range for this position is $160,000 to $200,000 annually.
Additional Information
This is an in-office role based in San Francisco, CA. Benefits are described in more detail in company policies, may vary by location, and can change at any time based on applicable compensation and benefits plans.
