Job description
Role Overview
This full-time, non-management bellhop position is based in Singapore at a Marriott property and is part of the Rooms & Guest Services Operations team. The role focuses on welcoming guests, supporting arrivals and departures, and delivering attentive service that reflects the brand’s hospitality standards.
Key Duties
- Receive guests warmly, escort them to their rooms, and assist with entry and exit at the property.
- Share useful information about hotel amenities, services, operating hours, and nearby attractions or activities.
- Explain room features and how to use items such as the key, mini-bar, ice and vending areas, in-room safe, and valet laundry service.
- Move luggage between guest rooms and the bell area, and help with storage and retrieval as needed.
- Support guests entering or leaving vehicles, including loading and unloading bags.
- Provide directions and coordinate guest transportation such as taxis, shuttles, and limousine or sedan services, including advance requests where required.
- Communicate parking instructions clearly to guests and visitors.
- Maintain awareness of suspicious or unwelcome individuals on the premises and report concerns appropriately.
- Follow company policies, procedures, and safety requirements, and notify management about accidents, injuries, or unsafe conditions.
- Maintain a polished appearance, protect confidential information, and interact with guests and colleagues in a courteous, professional manner.
- Use clear language, answer telephone calls with proper etiquette, and build positive working relationships.
- Meet quality standards, respond quickly to service needs, and carry out additional duties assigned by supervisors.
- Be able to stand, walk, sit, bend, stoop, reach, and move across stairs or uneven/slippery surfaces for long periods while handling luggage and other items within the stated weight limits.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED-equivalent education is preferred.
- No prior related work experience is required.
- No supervisory background is needed.
- No license or certification is required.
- Ability to work a full-time schedule and perform physically demanding guest service tasks.
