Job description
Program Overview
This corporate internship is designed to give students practical exposure in a global hospitality company. It offers a structured learning environment where you can apply academic knowledge to real business situations, strengthen your capabilities, and gain experience through assigned projects, coaching, and on-the-job support.
As part of the APEC Finance team, the intern will help with financial analysis, process documentation, data gathering, and other tasks that support the Senior Director, Finance Operations - APEC. The role is intended to help leadership make informed business decisions that improve results and deliver greater shareholder value.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the APEC finance team with collecting data, preparing process documents, conducting financial analysis, building presentations, and following up on open items so department deadlines are met.
- Handle ad hoc support requests related to operational analysis.
- Contribute to project coordination and management activities for APEC Finance initiatives.
Skills and Abilities
- Strong analytical thinking and the ability to work with detailed financial information.
- Experience or exposure to project coordination and event planning is preferred.
- Comfort with data analysis, financial modelling, and preparing presentations.
- Good command of spreadsheets, word processing tools, and presentation software.
- Ability to interpret complex financial data and present findings clearly for senior decision-makers, both verbally and in writing.
- Solid understanding of accounting concepts, especially financial statement analysis.
- Capability to manage several priorities at once while working independently and collaboratively.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
- Interest in hospitality finance is an added advantage, including familiarity with concepts such as RevPAR, Flow-Thru, and margins.
Qualification Standard
The ideal candidate is an undergraduate in Business Management or Hospitality, preferably in the third year of study, and should be enthusiastic about building a career in the hospitality industry.
Eligibility
- Must be a Singaporean, Singapore Permanent Resident, or hold a valid student pass.
- Must be eligible for an undergraduate programme at a Singapore-registered university.
- Must be available to commit to a six-month internship.
