What the role involves

The Beauty Advisor helps drive store performance through service, sales, and smooth store operations. The position includes direct guest interaction, product guidance, cashier support, merchandising, cleanliness, compliance, and participation in store programs and events.

Key duties

• Help the store meet or exceed targets for retail sales, service sales, loyalty, credit, omni-channel sales, and shrink control.
• Welcome guests, understand what they are looking for, and tailor service to their preferences.
• Answer product and service questions, explain promotions, and suggest related products or services.
• Handle customer service issues, sales transactions, refunds, exchanges, and online order support.
• Perform makeup applications, skin assessments, and product demos to support selling and service.
• Schedule appointments and assist with in-store services and events.
• Stay current on new and existing products, ingredients, and benefits so guests receive informed guidance.
• Maintain reliable and punctual attendance.
• Support an inclusive, respectful environment for teammates and guests.
• Promote the loyalty program, including credit offers and the mobile app, when appropriate.
• Work with managers and store associates to help grow the business.
• Take part in ongoing training and category or brand education.
• Follow company policies, procedures, operating standards, and dress code requirements.
• Keep the assigned area stocked, properly signed, and front-faced, with testers available.
• Maintain cleanliness across the sales floor, restrooms, cashier area, stockroom, and break area.
• Assist with resets, planograms, marketing displays, advertising setups, inventory counts, and shipment processing/unloading using company tools and methods.
• Protect company property by following loss prevention practices.
• Carry out other operational tasks as assigned.

Job requirements

• High school diploma is preferred.
• At least 1 year of related work experience, or an equivalent mix of education and relevant experience, is preferred.
• Strong interest in guest service and confidence in selling.
• Comfort using basic technology such as point-of-sale systems and Apple devices.
• Ability to build and maintain customer relationships.
• Problem-solving and troubleshooting ability.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
• Availability for a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the job, including constant movement, frequent standing and bending, and lifting, carrying, or moving up to 25 lbs during a shift.

Working conditions

This is an active retail role that requires regular movement throughout the store, frequent physical activity, and handling objects throughout the shift. Pay and benefits

The hourly pay range for this role is $16.90 to $24.00. Final pay depends on factors such as education, qualifications, certifications, experience, shift, location, and business needs. Eligible associates may also receive overtime pay where required by law.

Full-time employees may receive paid time off along with health, dental, vision, life, and disability coverage. Part-time employees may be eligible for dental, vision, life, and disability benefits.
