Job description
Position Overview
This role involves greeting guests and escorting them to their rooms, providing assistance with luggage, and offering information about hotel amenities and local attractions. The attendant helps guests entering and exiting the property and vehicles, arranges transportation services upon request, and ensures compliance with all company policies.
Primary Duties
- Welcome guests and escort them to their rooms, opening doors and assisting as needed.
- Inform guests of hotel facilities, services, operational hours, and nearby points of interest.
- Explain room features including key usage, minibar, in-room safes, ice and vending machines, and valet laundry services.
- Transport and manage guest luggage to/from rooms and designated bell areas, including storage and retrieval.
- Assist guests in getting in and out of vehicles and help with loading/unloading luggage.
- Provide guests with directions and coordinate transportation options such as taxis, shuttle buses, or limousines; handling advance reservations as necessary.
- Communicate parking rules and ensure safety awareness on hotel premises.
- Maintain a professional and neat appearance, uphold confidentiality, and comply with safety and quality standards.
- Engage positively with guests and colleagues, cater to individuals with disabilities, and maintain clear, courteous communication.
Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent education (G.E.D. preferred).
- No prior work experience or supervisory background required.
- No license or certification is necessary.
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting objects up to 50 pounds solo, heavier items with assistance, and moving over various surfaces such as stairs and ramps.
- Capable of standing, walking, or sitting for the duration of a shift and adapting speed to workplace demands.
- Ability to read and process information from diverse formats including small print.
