About the role

Inbox Studio, part of the Britannica Group, builds and runs digital brands across travel, lifestyle, general knowledge, and games. The team uses an email-first model to reach more than 27 million engaged readers across 20+ brands. This position sits on the editorial team and partners closely with brand and photo editors to find, refine, and organize images for multiple editorial products.

This is a practical, detail-oriented opportunity for someone with a strong visual sensibility who wants to sharpen their skills in a fast-moving media environment.

What you'll do

  • Find and evaluate imagery that supports content published every day.
  • Edit photos in Photoshop, including color correction, resizing, and web/email optimization, while staying aligned with each brand’s visual guidelines.
  • Provide light graphic design support using established templates.
  • Handle image metadata, rights clearance, and digital asset organization within the MAM system.
  • Work with editors, designers, and photo editors to make sure visuals and written stories fit together well.
  • Check image quality across brands and escalate concerns when needed.
  • Assist photo editors on special assignments and other ad hoc work.
  • Maintain strong editorial standards so images remain accurate, appealing, clear, and reliable.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in photography, visual arts, journalism, or a similar field, or comparable experience.
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and other Adobe creative tools.
  • Basic understanding of image licensing, copyright, and usage rights.
  • Strong visual judgement and an ability to identify compelling photography.
  • Careful attention to detail in both content quality and execution.
  • Comfort managing several deadlines at once without compromising standards.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for distributed team collaboration.

Preferred background

  • 0–1 year of experience in photo editing, visual media, or a related internship.
  • Experience using a digital asset management platform.
  • Exposure to Figma, Airtable, and WordPress.
  • Understanding of the digital media environment and current visual trends.
