About the Role

We are seeking a diligent and people-centric Associate Human Resources Business Partner to provide support for medical leave management across various states. This full-time remote role, based in Nairobi, Kenya, involves upholding compliance with federal and state leave legislation while offering outstanding assistance to employees, managers, and HR teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and other state-mandated leaves to ensure compliance and data accuracy.
  • Assist employees and managers by clearly guiding them through leave processes.
  • Maintain accurate HRIS entries, certifications, and handle confidential records for case management.
  • Deliver timely communications, notices, and necessary forms throughout the leave lifecycle to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Investigate potential leave fraud and resolve escalated cases using sound judgment skills.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with HR, managers, and employees to facilitate smooth leave case processing.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field or equivalent experience.
  • 3 to 5 years of human resources experience, ideally with a focus on leave management policies.
  • In-depth understanding of employment laws and regulations applicable across multiple states.
  • Advanced proficiency in English (C1 level mandatory).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and willingness to learn new software platforms.
  • Strong organizational, analytical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
