About the Role
Join Spotify's Sales team, where your passion for the brand and understanding of the ad industry help cultivate new business opportunities and expand our client network across Australia and New Zealand. The Emerging & Scaled team is committed to driving growth by securing new advertisers and establishing lasting partnerships. Based in Sydney, this role focuses on bringing first-time advertisers to Spotify and nurturing these relationships for sustained success. You'll operate closely with existing ANZ Client Partners and sales leadership to build a pipeline of new clients and contribute to revenue growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive new business development by managing a portfolio of prospective accounts throughout Australia and New Zealand, actively sourcing, qualifying, and converting new advertisers into Spotify partners through proactive outreach.
- Implement multi-channel prospecting campaigns including research, persona mapping, personalized email sequences, and LinkedIn engagement, complemented by creative presentations such as audio, video, and display mockups.
- Maintain a robust sales pipeline with disciplined Salesforce management, accurate forecasting, and regular client engagement to meet quarterly revenue targets and onboarding goals.
- Successfully close deals and oversee the onboarding of new advertisers onto Spotify Ads Manager and other biddable platforms, followed by monitoring account performance post-activation.
- Collaborate with colleagues to reactivate lapsed or dormant accounts and ensure seamless transitions to Client Partners as accounts mature beyond New Business scope.
- Develop expertise in Spotify’s advertising products, formats, and buying channels, staying informed on innovations and market trends to optimize prospecting strategies.
- Foster strong relationships with key agencies and holding companies across ANZ to unlock additional opportunities for brand-direct and agency-led advertising partnerships.
Candidate Profile
- You have at least 4 years of digital media sales experience, preferably in a new business or client acquisition role.
- Exhibit a hunter mindset with strengths in cold outreach, account research, personalized messaging, and competitive analysis.
- Highly organized and self-sufficient with the ability to manage a large volume of prospects efficiently.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of articulating Spotify’s value and understanding client needs clearly.
- Self-driven and motivated to exceed targets and continuously improve.
- Commercially focused with an enthusiasm for impact; experience in ad tech, programmatic, or audio advertising is advantageous.
- Value teamwork and knowledge sharing within a collaborative environment.
Work Location and Schedule
- This position is based in Sydney, with expectations to work onsite three days a week and enjoy the flexibility to work remotely on other days.
- Periodic travel across Australia and New Zealand is required for client meetings, industry events, and team collaboration.
