About the role

Everlane is hiring an Associate Art Director to help shape the brand’s creative direction and bring its visual identity to life. The role sits within the Creative team, which bridges marketing goals and business priorities through work that speaks to customers across campaigns, retail, e-commerce, social media, and more. The team’s approach is guided by brand principles such as transparency, accessibility, and inclusivity.

Reporting to the Creative Director, this person will develop elevated creative solutions that support storytelling, seasonal campaigns, and commercial objectives. The work spans both digital and physical touchpoints, including email, site content, in-store materials, and paid media. The position is based in Los Angeles, CA, in the Arts District Creative Studio, with a hybrid schedule requiring at least three in-office days each week, from Tuesday through Thursday.

Responsibilities

  • Create and develop strong brand-aligned concepts across integrated channels such as digital, social, print, and experiential experiences.
  • Work with creative leadership to turn the brand vision into cohesive seasonal campaigns and storytelling assets.
  • Build mood boards, visual direction frameworks, and presentation decks that clearly communicate creative ideas.
  • Contribute actively to brainstorming and cross-functional ideation for campaigns and brand initiatives.
  • Lead design and production work for assets used across social media, e-commerce, email, web, and marketing materials.
  • Oversee homepage content, email layouts, and digital storytelling pieces, including video, motion, and interactive formats where relevant.
  • Create visual assets for product launches, brand campaigns, and retail activations.
  • Support print deliverables such as lookbooks, mailers, packaging, and in-store or outdoor graphics.
  • Maintain consistency, polish, and quality across all brand touchpoints, with strong attention to typography, layout, and identity systems.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in the design field.
  • A portfolio that demonstrates range across digital, print, paid media, packaging, and related formats.
  • Experience working in e-commerce, social media, and campaign-led environments.
  • Strong command of typography, grid systems, color theory, and composition.
  • Motion graphics and illustration experience is an added advantage.
  • Ability to build and evolve design systems while supporting brand growth.
  • Advanced skills in Creative Suite and Figma; After Effects knowledge is a plus.
  • Prior experience at an agency or premium consumer brand is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Comfort using, or curiosity about, AI tools such as Midjourney and Firefly to speed up ideation, production, and exploration.

Additional information

This is a full-time position. For California candidates, the annual compensation range for this role is USD 76,000 to 120,000, with final pay depending on background, experience, qualifications, and location. Everlane notes that compensation may vary based on the Los Angeles market and the individual selected for the role.
