Role overview
Macpac Taupo is looking for an Assistant Store Manager who is confident taking initiative, thrives in a customer-focused environment, and brings strong energy to the sales floor. In this role, you will help lead a high-performing team and keep store operations running smoothly while maintaining a polished, well-presented store.
You will work closely with the Store Manager, who will provide support as you help guide an engaged and diverse team. This opportunity is well suited to someone who is ready to step up into leadership or already has experience leading others.
Working pattern
- The usual rhythm for this position is Tuesday through Saturday.
- There is flexibility in scheduling, agreed between you and the Store Manager.
Key responsibilities
As Assistant Store Manager, you will contribute to sales growth, team performance, and an excellent in-store experience. Your role will involve supporting the Store Manager in day-to-day leadership and helping create a positive workplace culture.
What you will bring
- Experience in a management or supervisory role.
- Confidence leading by example and delivering outstanding customer service.
- The ability to encourage, motivate, and inspire team members.
- Capability in training staff, driving sales on the shop floor, and meeting business targets.
- Practical experience with visual merchandising, stock management, workplace health and safety, and store security.
- A genuine interest in the outdoors or travel; prior experience with outdoor apparel and equipment is helpful but not required.
