About the Role

We are seeking an Assistant Product Manager to join the Life & Disability team at MAS, a New Zealand-owned mutual insurer focused on financial health and wellbeing for its Members. This permanent position is available at either the Auckland or Wellington office. The ideal candidate is curious, detail-oriented, and enjoys conducting research, analysis, and stakeholder engagement to shape impactful life insurance products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-depth research and analyze market trends and competitor activities to inform product strategy.
  • Support ongoing product reviews and initiatives aimed at product enhancement and continuous improvement.
  • Identify opportunities to improve outcomes for Members as well as business performance.
  • Prepare insightful reports and actionable recommendations to facilitate informed decision-making.
  • Provide consistent product insights to assist advisers in understanding MAS's value proposition and unique product features.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with diverse stakeholders across the organization.
  • Contribute valuable ideas to product discussions, influencing product development and strategy positively.
  • Assist in the creation and upkeep of product-related content and documentation.

Candidate Profile

  • Background in product management, product support, business analysis, or a closely related discipline.
  • Preferably 5 years of experience in life insurance, financial services, or a related sector.
  • Strong analytical and research capabilities with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks independently and take full ownership of deliverables.
  • Excellent communication skills and proficiency in engaging and collaborating with stakeholders.
  • Confidence in contributing ideas and respectfully challenging prevailing assumptions.
  • Open to ongoing learning, coaching, and continuous professional development.
  • Personal values align with a collaborative, member-focused organizational culture.
