Job description
Overview
This position supports Scholastic’s Global Brands and Franchise Management team in New York City. The role is expected to be based in the SoHo office, with a minimum in-office presence of two days each week. Depending on the needs of the work, certain teams or responsibilities may call for more frequent on-site attendance.
The team works across major brands and franchises including Harry Potter, The World of Dav Pilkey (Dog Man, Captain Underpants, and other Pilkey titles), The Hunger Games, The Baby-sitters Club, and more.
What you will do
- Provide day-to-day administrative support such as scheduling meetings, maintaining calendars, arranging travel, placing book orders, handling book mailings, and processing expenses.
- Support publicity efforts by monitoring Google Alerts, organizing review coverage and archives for all major brands, compiling press clips and images for weekly publicity updates, and helping coordinate author travel, including car service and hotel arrangements.
- Assist marketing work by keeping global brand toolkits current for Dav Pilkey, Harry Potter, and The Hunger Games, reviewing and approving promotional materials, proofreading content for international publishing partners and the SRE group, supporting social media scheduling for The Hunger Games, and helping with global brand website updates.
- Help the broader Global Brands team with administrative tasks such as setting up global meetings, tracking work-in-progress items, recording notes during meetings, and updating timelines and presentation decks on a monthly basis.
- Monitor competitor-related alerts as part of ongoing analysis efforts.

Qualifications
- Interest in the publishing industry and children’s media.
- Strong communication, writing, and computer skills, including working knowledge of PowerPoint and Photoshop.
- Ability to juggle multiple priorities and work well as part of a team.
- Background in marketing or communications.
- College graduate.
