Role overview
This position is accountable for directing the planning and delivery of contract management work across assigned commands and departments within the Digital and Intelligence Service (DIS). The role works closely with multiple stakeholders to align industry support contracts with operational requirements and mission needs.
Key accountabilities
- Oversee the assessment, shortlisting, and onboarding of vendors and service providers.
- Direct the review, management, and reduction of contractual as well as operational risks.
- Guide, coach, and build a capable team of contract management specialists.
- Work with the team to identify essential capabilities and capacities that cannot be sourced internally, then shape contractual solutions to close those gaps.
Challenges in the role
- Handling large, intricate, multi-party agreements that involve different terms, conditions, and performance measures across several sectors.
- Balancing competing priorities and expectations from internal teams, senior leadership, and external vendors.
What we are looking for
The ideal candidate brings at least 6 years of relevant experience in contract management-related work such as procurement, logistics, contract setup, or contractor management. You should be comfortable with complex projects involving many stakeholders, and bring strong analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, and close attention to detail. The role also calls for sound leadership and confident decision-making, along with strong interpersonal and communication skills to earn trust and influence people at different levels. Experience in negotiation, stakeholder engagement, dispute handling, financial analysis, and budgeting is important.
