Job description

Role Overview

This role is responsible for leading the performance of several retail stores across a designated area for one or more brands within the region. The position focuses on improving sales, strengthening customer experience, developing store teams, and keeping operations aligned with company requirements. It also calls for close coordination with senior leaders and brand teams, strong business analysis, and active management of inventory, promotions, and in-store marketing execution.

Operations Management

  • Manage the daily functioning of multiple fashion retail outlets in the assigned territory.
  • Make sure each store runs smoothly and follows company standards, including start-of-day and end-of-day routines.
  • Allocate work, assign duties to store managers, and track follow-through.
  • Enforce company SOPs, policies, procedures, and loss-prevention audit rules across all assigned stores, while putting measures in place to ensure every employee complies.
  • Evaluate store and customer requirements and take decisions on operational and visual standards accordingly.
  • Act as the main liaison with brand teams to roll out business plans, marketing activities, and other strategy items consistently across stores.

Financial Management

  • Track sales performance, KPIs, and overall financial results, with special attention to P&L and EBITDA, to spot improvement opportunities.
  • Review financial statements and use data-backed insights to raise productivity and profitability.
  • Oversee store budgets, spending, and financial performance across the area.
  • Introduce cost-control measures that improve margins without reducing quality.

Customer Experience

  • Drive high service standards by coaching teams across all stores.
  • Visit stores regularly to review service quality and fix customer issues quickly.
  • Work with store managers to act on customer feedback and enhance the overall shopping journey.

Market Analysis and Strategy

  • Use market intelligence to uncover growth opportunities and adjust plans as needed.
  • Keep up with market shifts, customer behavior, and competitor actions.
  • Create and execute area-level sales and marketing plans to increase footfall and revenue.

Communication and Reporting

  • Keep senior management informed on store performance and area-wide initiatives.
  • Share key business drivers, merchandise concerns, quality issues, and related updates with the Retail Operations Manager, Retail Buying Team, and Corporate Office when required.
  • Prepare detailed performance reports covering achievements, challenges, and growth opportunities.

Team Management and Development

  • Hire and train staff in selling skills, service standards, teamwork, and brand-specific etiquette.
  • Review employee performance annually and maintain open communication through coaching and motivation.
  • Identify additional training needs to support stronger store performance.
  • Create a positive workplace that supports collaboration, innovation, and growth.
  • Build succession plans to maintain a pipeline of capable candidates for important roles in the area.

Experience Profile

The preferred candidate brings 5 to 7 years of retail management experience, including 2 to 3 years handling multiple stores in a role such as Area Manager or District Manager. A strong history of managing several retail locations, especially in fashion or similar sectors, is expected.
