Role overview
The Store Manager for Sports & Performance is responsible for driving store performance, maintaining brand standards, and ensuring shoppers receive excellent service. The role calls for strong team leadership, active floor management, and consistent execution of company procedures to grow sales and support repeat business.
Core objectives
- Work toward company goals by making sure the retail team delivers a high standard of customer care and has the guidance needed to improve sales.
- Put store processes into practice in line with company and brand requirements.
- Encourage the company loyalty program to increase repeat purchases and customer retention.
- Share observations and feedback with the Area Manager and Operations Manager regarding staff performance and product-related matters.
Key responsibilities
- Brief, coach, and direct store staff so daily, weekly, and monthly sales targets are met.
- Maintain a polished personal appearance and strong product knowledge to help reduce stock loss and support effective selling.
- Stay current on new launches, trends, and fashion direction so customer needs can be anticipated and handled well.
- Control stock loss and oversee stockroom organization and discipline.
- Ensure operating rules are followed and that all staff comply with brand and company policies at all times.
- Use practical and creative selling methods to help the store reach or surpass revenue targets.
- Monitor stock availability and keep inventory levels sufficient to support sales.
- Review store administration on a weekly basis and correct any mismatches or issues.
- Handle the daily roster, leave planning, and staff grievances for retail employees.
- Keep visual merchandising standards consistently aligned with the approved VM guidelines.
- Promote the Club Apparel loyalty program to drive repeat sales.
- Oversee store operations end to end and provide employee/product feedback to management.
- Maintain continuous awareness of store security and act with care to prevent negligence.
- Stay informed about the group’s brands to support suggestive selling across the customer journey.
- Be able to stand for long periods and manage heavy lifting as required by the role.
