Job description
About the Role
As an Activities Coordinator in a Barchester care home, you will play a key part in shaping a lively, engaging atmosphere that supports outstanding care and day-to-day wellbeing for residents. The organisation’s approach centres on celebrating life, so the role involves designing enjoyable, imaginative and motivating activities that appeal to a wide range of interests and abilities.
A meaningful part of the position is building relationships with residents and their families so you can develop personalised activity plans that help improve wellbeing, independence and social connection.
About You
The ideal candidate will be friendly, empathetic and approachable. Strong planning and organisational abilities, along with a proactive attitude, will help you get things done and turn ideas into action. A lively, creative style and genuine enthusiasm will encourage residents and colleagues to take part in activities both inside the home and in the wider local community.
Previous experience in a similar role would be helpful, but it is not essential, as training will be provided to support your development and career progression.
Rewards Package
In return for your commitment, you will receive a competitive salary along with a strong benefits and rewards package. This includes free training and development across all roles, access to wellbeing and support resources, retail discounts and savings, and an unlimited Refer a Friend bonus scheme.
Additional recognition includes Employee of the Month rewards and Long Service Awards. You will also be enrolled in a workplace pension scheme with employer contributions starting at 3%. Further benefits are also available.
Additional Information
This role is described as rewarding for someone who wants to use planning and interpersonal skills in an organisation committed to the same quality of care that people would want for their own loved ones.
