Job description
About the Role
As an Activities Assistant in a Barchester care home, you will plan and deliver lively, enjoyable, and varied activity sessions that help residents spend their time in a meaningful and uplifting way. The aim is to create a setting where every person can follow the hobbies and interests they care about most, while making a positive difference to their daily life.
You will support the wider entertainment and activities programme, bringing together a mix of pastimes, social events, outings, and community activities. In this role, you will help residents remain as independent as possible and strengthen their links with family, friends, and the local community.
About You
No previous experience is required for this position, so applicants from any background are welcome. What matters most is a playful approach, originality, and the confidence to inspire and support others.
You should also have a genuine interest in the people you support. A warm, enthusiastic, and understanding attitude is important, along with a real desire to help residents live as fully as possible. In return, you will have the chance to grow your abilities through training courses designed to strengthen your confidence across all parts of the role.
Rewards Package
This position offers a competitive salary alongside a benefits package that includes:
- Free training and development for all roles
- Access to wellbeing resources and support tools
- Retail savings and discounts
- Unlimited referral rewards through the Refer a Friend bonus scheme
- Employee of the Month recognition and Long Service Awards
- Workplace pension scheme with employer contributions starting from 3%
- Additional benefits beyond those listed above
Additional Information
This role is described as a rewarding opportunity for someone who wants to use creativity and strong people skills in an organisation known for delivering the level of care they would want for their own family.
