A long-standing and expanding construction-sector organisation is looking to add an Accounts Payable Assistant to its finance team in North Dublin. The business has grown rapidly year after year, began as a family-run company, and is now widely recognised in the industry. The role sits in a busy, high-volume AP environment and offers the chance to work with a supportive team.
Role overview
This position supports the accounts payable process across several entities. You will handle day-to-day invoice and payment activity, keep records accurate, and help maintain strong supplier relationships while assisting the wider finance function where needed.
Key responsibilities
- Monitor the accounts payable inbox and deal with incoming queries promptly.
- Enter and process large volumes of supplier invoices for multiple companies.
- Prepare and issue supplier payments.
- Carry out monthly bank reconciliations.
- Maintain the creditors ledger, including matching and reconciling supplier statements.
- Develop productive relationships with suppliers and resolve outstanding issues.
- Support year-end audit preparation and related requests.
- Keep filing and record-keeping systems accurate and up to date.
- Provide general support to the finance team with additional tasks as required.
Requirements
- At least 2 to 3 years of experience in a high-volume accounts payable or accounting role in the Irish market.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for working with both internal teams and external contacts.
- Good organisational ability and confidence in managing several priorities at once.
- Desirable: experience in the construction sector.
- Desirable: familiarity with Relevant Contracts Tax (RCT).
