Role Overview

This role represents a dedicated Account Manager position within Milsons' Auckland branch, concentrating on business development and managing accounts across multiple sectors including construction, manufacturing, civil engineering, and reseller markets. The role involves promoting an expanded product portfolio to diverse customer channels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead initiatives to acquire new business and nurture current accounts within construction, manufacturing, civil sectors, and retail channels.
  • Collaborate with the Sales Manager and the broader sales team to develop and implement strategic sales plans.
  • Manage customer relationships comprehensively from initial engagement through sustained growth of accounts.
  • Maintain precise and updated CRM records and monitor sales metrics aligned with reporting obligations.
  • Evaluate sales trends to uncover new customer segments and identify growth opportunities.
  • Address customer issues proactively and collect feedback to enhance service quality.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Between 5 and 10 years of proven sales experience, preferably in business-to-business environments, or exceptional sales results achieved within a shorter timeframe.
  • Experience successfully developing new business and expanding existing client relationships.
  • Industry-specific experience in fasteners is not mandatory; novel insights are encouraged.
  • Strong adherence to CRM practices and familiarity with ERP systems.
  • Commercial acumen with an ability to interpret data and identify opportunities.
  • Formal training in sales or a natural sales orientation is highly valued.
  • A collaborative mindset and the ability to thrive within a small, tightly-knit organizational environment.
