Job description
Role overview
The University of Auckland is looking for a 360 International Adviser to help students take part in overseas study experiences that can transform their academic and personal development. Working within the International Office, you will help grow participation in learning abroad and make sure students receive guidance throughout the entire process.
This position suits someone who is enthusiastic about international education, enjoys supporting students from varied backgrounds, and performs well in a fast-moving environment.
The 360 International team manages outbound student mobility for the University, including semester exchange programmes with overseas partner universities as well as short-term international options. In this role, you will help deliver these programmes on a daily basis through a mix of student support, promotion and outreach, administration, and engagement with key stakeholders. The team is known internationally for supporting students who are often underrepresented in global learning opportunities.
Key duties
You will be involved in programme coordination, student guidance, communication, and relationship management across the learning abroad lifecycle.
- Handle programme administration, including applications, checking eligibility, managing documentation, and maintaining student records.
- Provide student advice and pastoral support from first enquiry through to preparation for departure and beyond.
- Organise and run outreach activities such as events, faculty presentations, and the 360 International Fair.
- Create and deliver marketing and recruitment initiatives, including online content, social media activity, and promotional resources.
- Develop productive working relationships with internal teams and external partners, including faculties and overseas institutions.
- Contribute to continuous improvement, risk management, and quality assurance, including health, safety, and well-being processes.
About you
You should have experience in a higher education setting, ideally supporting learning abroad or student development initiatives. You will be comfortable working with students, university colleagues, and partner institutions.
The role calls for someone who is upbeat, confident, collaborative, and committed to delivering a strong student experience. You will need to be organised, accurate, digitally capable, culturally aware, and appreciative of different perspectives.
You should also be able to balance competing priorities, communicate clearly with diverse audiences, and look for better ways to support students and improve processes.
Requirements
- At least two years of experience in an administrative or advisory position within a large, complex organisation, with exposure to multiple stakeholders.
- Strong written and spoken communication skills, including the ability to work effectively across diverse and cross-cultural settings.
- A clear commitment to excellent customer service and responsive stakeholder support.
- Well-developed organisational ability, strong attention to detail, and the capacity to manage competing demands under pressure.
- Confidence using a variety of digital tools and systems, along with strong computer literacy.
- Awareness of, or interest in, international education; tertiary sector experience, overseas experience, or additional language skills would be an advantage.

- Flexible working options, including work-from-home arrangements and flexible hours.
- Strong and inclusive parental leave support.
