About the Role
Join Sodexo as a Utility Worker based at Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, LA. This full-time position requires availability to work any shift, with details provided during the interview. Sodexo values purposeful work and offers a supportive, engaging environment for employees.
Key Responsibilities
- Hand-washing dishes or operating dishwashing machines to maintain cleanliness.
- Cleaning and sanitizing work areas including tables, walls, refrigerators, and meat blocks to meet hygiene standards.
- Sweeping, mopping, vacuuming floors, and removing waste to designated collection points.
- Maintaining equipment sanitation by using appropriate cleaning chemicals.
- Restocking essential supplies like soap, paper towels, and cleaning materials.
- Performing physical tasks involving significant walking, standing for extended periods (possibly over 8 hours), bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, and regularly lifting items up to 35 pounds, sometimes up to 50 pounds.
- Arriving punctually and maintaining regular attendance for scheduled shifts.
- Additional tasks as assigned according to client and business needs.
Qualifications and Skills
- High school diploma, GED, or relevant equivalent experience.
- No prior related work experience required.
- Basic knowledge of sanitation processes and fundamental food safety principles.
Work Conditions and Physical Requirements
This role involves active physical movement and standing throughout shifts, requiring the ability to frequently lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
