Role Overview
We are seeking a Technical Designer to join our expanding team for an exciting new cooperative horror exploration game. This pivotal role involves crafting engaging gameplay features, collaborating cross-functionally to produce ambitious in-game content, and ensuring seamless implementation within technical constraints.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, prototype, and refine gameplay elements, including game flow, interactive objects, player abilities, event triggers for narrative and audio, scripted scenes, tutorials, and bug resolutions.
- Work closely with designers and artists to optimize content implementation leveraging existing technology for superior outcomes.
- Partner with engineering teams to enhance design pipelines and faithfully realize gameplay concepts while considering performance limits.
- Coordinate with producers and leadership to evaluate requirements, estimate workloads, and update progress ensuring project milestones are achieved.
Required Qualifications
- At least five years of experience in game development with a minimum of two years focused on Technical Design.
- Expertise in Unreal Engine 5, including Blueprint scripting, gameplay system integration, debugging, and managing complex technical frameworks.
- Proficiency with modern text-based scripting languages.
- Experience shipping commercial titles, preferably within exploration or horror genres.
- Strong self-management skills, capable of thriving in dynamic technical environments.
- Excellent collaborative abilities, both verbal and written.
