About the Role

We are seeking a passionate Software Engineer to contribute to our dynamic global engineering team of around 500 members. You will collaborate within specialized 'super teams' focusing on various critical domains, including server-side, client-side, and mobile development, alongside UX experts, designers, and copywriters. You will enjoy a work culture that empowers teams to select their methodologies, often leaning towards Kanban, and use tools such as Notion, Asana, GitHub, CircleCI, and Terraform Enterprise. Monitoring is managed via Datadog, Sentry, and Cloudwatch. Our coding conventions partially embrace open-source standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain clean, efficient backend software designed for global scalability and impact.
• Collaborate closely with experienced peers to ensure high-quality software design and technology choices.
• Onboard and support new team members, promoting excellent documentation and clean coding practices.
• Contribute to cultivating an exceptional developer experience within the team.
• Support the company’s mission to combat climate change through greener technologies and renewable energy solutions.

Required Skills and Knowledge

• Fluent communication skills in English; proficiency in German, French, Italian, or Spanish is an advantage.
• Strong interest and aptitude for technology and problem-solving.
• Proficiency in Python programming for developing efficient backend systems.
• Experience with Django or similar web frameworks to accelerate application development.
• Competence in domain modeling to implement effective backend structures accommodating complex business logic.
• In-depth understanding of HTTP, RESTful APIs, and GraphQL for flexible frontend-backend communication.
• Ability to write robust, fault-tolerant software that performs reliably under challenging conditions.
• Experience with Celery and asynchronous processing to optimize backend task handling.
• Knowledge of Postgres for developing scalable and high-performance database applications.
