Software Engineer - Google Wallet

About the Role

At Google, software engineers are the driving force behind revolutionary technologies impacting billions worldwide. This role within the Google Wallet team involves building innovative solutions that digitize and organize personal credentials such as payments, identities, and passes, simplifying transactions to make them safer and more convenient. You will work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment alongside global and local product managers, UX designers, and engineers.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, deploy, maintain, and continuously improve software components for Google Wallet.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to define user-facing features, prioritizing accessibility and global usability standards.
• Produce clean, maintainable, and well-tested code across the full technology stack, including server-side API design and integration.
• Utilize AI-based development tools to streamline and accelerate coding workflows.
• Contribute actively throughout all stages of the software development lifecycle in a dynamic environment.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in a related field.
• At least 2 years of professional software development experience in one or more languages such as Python or C++.
• Preferably 3 or more years of experience developing mobile applications on Android or iOS platforms.
• Experience with full-stack development and applying best practices for mobile app testing and quality assurance.
• Familiarity with applying AI tools in development workflows.
• Understanding of payment systems or digital credential technologies is a plus.
• A strong enthusiasm for developing user-centric features and delivering product excellence.
