Position Overview
Work Force Nexus is looking to hire a driven and detail-focused Remote IT Support Trainee to become part of our vibrant technical support team. This full-time remote position based in Australia offers a great chance for those stepping into the IT industry to develop their skills and gain valuable hands-on experience under expert mentorship.
Main Responsibilities
- Deliver first-tier technical assistance through phone, email, chat, or remote access technologies.
- Identify and resolve fundamental issues related to hardware, software, and operating systems.
- Manage password resets, user account setups, and access permissions.
- Record, track, and update cases in the company’s ticketing platform.
- Refer complicated problems to senior IT team members as needed.
- Install, set up, and maintain software and system updates.
- Guide users through straightforward troubleshooting procedures.
- Keep accurate logs of support requests and their outcomes.
- Assist with configuring laptops, desktops, printers, and related peripherals.
- Adhere to IT security protocols and data protection standards.
- Work collaboratively with other teams to ensure prompt problem resolution.
- Engage in continuous learning and attend training to keep skills current.
Qualifications and Skills
- Possession or pursuit of a bachelor's degree, diploma, or similar credential in IT, Computer Science, or a comparable discipline.
- Up to two years of experience in IT support roles such as Help Desk or Technical Support; internships are also considered.
- Basic familiarity with Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office 365 suite.
- Understanding of computer hardware, networking basics, and common software applications.
- Effective problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Strong communication skills, both spoken and written.
- Customer-oriented mindset with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Capability to work independently within a remote work setting.
- Keen interest in learning and adapting to evolving technological priorities.
Additional Desired Experience
- Introductory knowledge of Active Directory, Microsoft 365, or cloud-based collaboration platforms.
- Experience using remote desktop support software.
- Certifications like CompTIA A+, Microsoft Fundamentals, or Google IT Support Certificate are advantageous but not mandatory.
