Role Overview

This position, available exclusively to current staff members of Aneurin Bevan University Health Board (ABUHB), is a fixed-term secondment lasting 9 months until August 2027 to cover maternity leave. The successful candidate will lead and support Quality Improvement (QI) capability development within the Health Board, especially through short training sessions and collaboration with local QI groups, ensuring alignment with overall capability strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate brief QI training sessions including virtual introductory skills training ('PocEd QI').
  • Provide expert coaching and facilitation to individuals and multidisciplinary teams to help solve complex problems and foster continuous improvement.
  • Embed Quality Improvement as an integral daily practice aligned with organisational priorities to achieve sustainable, measurable outcomes.
  • Support the consolidation and analysis of learning and evidence from QI activities to inform ongoing planning.
  • Promote sustainable practices including agile working and the use of virtual platforms to reduce carbon footprint.

Candidate Profile

The ideal applicant will hold a Master's degree or demonstrate equivalent relevant experience, along with recognized qualifications in Improvement Methodology. Experience in complex data analysis using Statistical Process Control, coaching, mentoring, facilitating multi-professional groups, leading quality improvement projects, and remote training delivery via MS Teams or Zoom is essential. Additional qualifications such as teaching/training and project management are desirable. Knowledge of records management and information systems is advantageous.
