Role & Responsibilities

  • Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections to guarantee product quality complies with standards.
  • Ensure compliance with IATF 16949, customer-specific criteria, and other quality standards.
  • Monitor daily quality metrics and strive to minimize defects, rework, and customer grievances.
  • Use root cause analysis methods such as 8D, 5 Why, and Fishbone diagrams and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Support quality processes including APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC, and Control Plans for new and current products.
  • Conduct process and layered process audits (LPA), along with internal quality audits.
  • Collaborate with Production, Maintenance, and NPD teams to troubleshoot quality issues.
  • Ensure proper calibration and use of measuring instruments and gauges.
  • Verify products against engineering drawings, GD&T standards, and customer requirements.
  • Maintain quality documentation, inspection reports, and records.
  • Analyze quality data and compile reports on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
  • Participate in customer audits and assist in prompt resolution of observations.
  • Lead continuous improvement projects using Kaizen, Poka-Yoke, and Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Train shop floor staff on quality protocols, inspection techniques, and defect avoidance.
  • Adhere to safety guidelines, 5S methodology, and company quality procedures.

Candidate Profile

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree (B.E./B.Tech) in Mechanical, Production, Automobile, or Industrial Engineering.
  • 3 to 6 years of relevant experience in Quality Assurance or Quality Control within automotive manufacturing.
  • Experience with sheet metal parts, tube bending, welding, and fabrication is advantageous.
  • Strong knowledge of IATF 16949 standards, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC, Control Plans, and 8D methodology.
  • Capability to interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and customer specifications accurately.
  • Hands-on familiarity with measuring equipment such as Vernier Calipers, Micrometers, Height Gauges, Bore Gauges, Dial Gauges, Surface Plates, and CMM.
  • Experienced in managing customer complaints, process enhancements, and internal audit procedures.
  • Proficient with MS Office and quality report preparation.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving abilities, communication, and teamwork skills.
  • Prior experience working with automotive OEM and Tier-1 clients.
