Job description
Overview
The Production Planner will oversee the scheduling and management of production orders within the Parts Fabrication Department, ensuring all operations align with manufacturing resource planning and ISO standards. This role involves translating demand forecasts into actionable production schedules, managing capacity limitations, and maintaining ERP data integrity across manufacturing and subcontracted processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, activate, and release production, project, and return merchandise authorization (RMA) orders based on approved demand and MRP/PRP outputs.
- Manage capacity constraints and bottlenecks for internal manufacturing and subcontractor resources to mitigate delivery risks.
- Provide structured visibility on material readiness and production risks through visual management tools and participate in cross-functional material review meetings weekly with the Material Planner.
- Implement engineering changes, non-conformance report (NCR) related production adjustments, and planning updates within the ERP framework, adhering to ISO procedures.
- Maintain ERP data integrity with focus on accurate tracking, project stock management, and project closure reconciliation.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Diploma or degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field.
- At least 2 years’ experience as a production planner within the manufacturing sector or equivalent.
- Proven expertise in MRP and production planning coupled with meticulous attention to data accuracy, traceability, and adherence to ISO-audited processes.
- Comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing, machining, and subcontracting workflows, with strong analytical skills in managing capacity, bottlenecks, and risk factors.
