Role overview
Amazon Operations is the backbone of the company’s fulfillment and customer service network, built to deliver a reliable, high-quality experience for customers every time. The organization is hiring adaptable, ambitious, and innovative professionals for its India Operations team.
In this role, you will serve as City Manager for the India Ultra Fast Fresh network. The position involves direct team leadership in a highly metrics-led environment, ownership of operational performance, and responsibility for running improvement initiatives across both the site and the wider network. You will collaborate with multiple stakeholders to strengthen critical measures such as quality, speed, and cost, while also focusing on the growth and development of your team.
The role requires flexibility to work weekends and/or night shifts, as well as willingness to travel across intra-city locations to launch, set up, and monitor operations.
Key responsibilities
You will be expected to build staffing plans, create schedules, and drive quality and process-improvement initiatives, including Change and Six Sigma efforts, so that all fulfillment centers and locations can achieve or exceed the business plan. You will also define and communicate expectations for FC site leaders, track performance, provide feedback, and ensure accountability for both individual leaders and the sites they manage.
Qualifications and experience
Candidates should bring at least 3 years of experience in employee and performance management. A bachelor’s degree or an equivalent qualification is required, or alternatively 2+ years of experience as an Amazon blue badge/FTE employee. The role also requires the ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays.
Preference will be given to applicants with 1+ year of experience in performance metrics, process improvement, or lean methods.
