Role Overview

As a Medical Scribe, you will collaborate directly with physicians during consultations to document detailed patient information such as medical histories, examinations, test outcomes, and prescriptions in real time. This position facilitates doctors to concentrate fully on patient care by maintaining precise and updated medical records.

Key Responsibilities

• Accurately recording patient encounters alongside healthcare providers.
• Documenting comprehensive medical histories, exams, and treatments.
• Utilizing electronic health record (EHR) software for data entry.
• Monitoring and recording laboratory and diagnostic test results.
• Adhering firmly to HIPAA and other privacy regulations to ensure confidentiality of patient information.
• Maintaining current and accurate patient charts.
• Managing and organizing medical documents for physician review.
• Supporting the healthcare team with tracking lab results and conducting follow-ups.
• Contributing to efficient clinical operations.

Qualifications and Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent credential.
• Minimum age of 18 years with legal authorization to work in the U.S.
• Proof of vaccinations as may be required by the facility.
• Typing speed of at least 40 words per minute.
• Proficiency in English, inclusive of reading, writing, and speaking.
• Excellent listening skills and effective communication capabilities.
• Availability to work a flexible schedule.
• Physical ability to stand, sit and operate a computer for extended periods.
• Access to a personal laptop for training purposes; company equipment provided upon completion of training.

Work Environment and Schedule

This on-site position places you in various clinical settings, including outpatient offices and emergency departments. Working hours typically span weekdays from 8 AM to 5 PM, with some opportunities for evening and weekend shifts depending on the location. Emergency department shifts operate 24/7, providing flexible scheduling options. Roles are available on a part-time (2-3 shifts weekly) or full-time (3-4 shifts weekly) basis, generally with 8-hour shifts.
