Role Overview

The Lead Warehouse Operations role is accountable for managing daily inventory activities during the assigned shift. This includes keeping stock records accurate, ensuring smooth movement of goods in and out of the warehouse, maintaining proper storage practices, and following company SOPs closely. The position is centered on operational efficiency, shrinkage reduction, and supporting overall warehouse productivity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee inventory operations end to end throughout the assigned shift.
  • Track inward movement, putaway, replenishment, picking, packing, and dispatch activities.
  • Maintain correct stock records in WMS/ERP tools.
  • Carry out daily inventory checks and cycle counts to protect accuracy.
  • Look into stock differences, shortages, damage cases, and mismatches.
  • Apply FIFO/FEFO practices correctly across inventory flow.
  • Track ageing stock and manage movement of dead inventory.
  • Work closely with operations, supply chain, procurement, and dispatch teams to keep processes running smoothly.
  • Support timely replenishment to prevent stock-outs and delays.
  • Maintain accurate binning, labeling, and storage discipline.
  • Help reduce shrinkage, damage, and other process-related losses.
  • Prepare daily MIS updates covering inventory and shift operations.
  • Monitor workforce productivity and assign tasks efficiently.
  • Ensure adherence to safety rules, SOPs, and internal policies.
  • Assist in rolling out new processes and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Handle escalations during the shift.
  • Train and support inventory associates and warehouse team members.
  • Maintain housekeeping standards and warehouse discipline.
  • Coordinate with vendors, transporters, and internal teams whenever needed.
  • Keep proper shift handover records and communicate operational updates clearly.
