Job description
About Scribd, Inc.
Scribd, Inc. operates four leading products—Scribd®, Slideshare®, Everand™, and Fable—that empower global users to access, apply, and build expertise. The company fosters a culture of authenticity, innovation, and action, encouraging team members to set ambitious goals, achieve results, contribute fresh ideas, and collaborate to strengthen the whole organization. Flexibility is key, supporting a balance between personal work style and impactful in-person engagement, with occasional office attendance required for all staff.
The Opportunity
This pivotal role will spearhead Scribd's AI-driven evolution, particularly focusing on an internal developer platform. As the initial inward-facing Product Manager, you'll shape the company's agentic engineering stack, partner with diverse teams to optimize workflows with AI agents, and ensure platform adoption directly enhances how various functions operate. This role is tightly integrated with engineering, product leadership, and other disciplines, reporting to the Director of Developer Platform and influencing transformation at a foundational level.
Core Responsibilities
- Develop and manage a unified AI enablement roadmap, integrating initiatives across the company into a sequential plan and clarifying shared versus specialized infrastructure.
- Lead as the product owner for internal platforms, such as the app and agent ecosystems, ensuring continuous alignment with functional needs.
- Act as a bridge between end-users and platform teams, translating requirements and capabilities for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Drive the completion of crucial cross-functional projects and address dependencies to prevent fragmentation.
- Establish and report on adoption and impact metrics, crafting narratives to secure company-wide engagement.
- Execute strategic go-to-market rollouts for internal tools, applying rigorous standards akin to external product launches.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 7 years in product management, notably with developer tools, AI platforms, or internal productivity solutions.
- A proven record in guiding complex, cross-functional products without predefined processes, covering strategy, execution, and delivery in partnership with engineering teams.
- Hands-on expertise deploying products based on contemporary AI/LLM components, including prompting, evaluation, agentic workflows, or similar ecosystems.
- Deep technical competence, able to discuss system architecture, API decisions, and agent frameworks with engineers.
- Significant experience collaborating on technical strategy with engineering leaders at the architectural and planning levels.
- Exceptional communication, capable of moving fluidly between technical, functional, and executive audiences.
- Self-sufficiency in driving progress amid evolving priorities and organizational structuring.
Preferred Experience
- Background in engineering, technical program management, or direct AI application, with real-code delivery history.
- Experience as a Product Manager, technical lead, or founder developing internal-facing developer or AI platforms at scale.
- Familiarity with agentic coding environments (e.g., Claude Code, Codex, Cursor).
- Understanding multi-product SaaS models and software ecosystems incorporating Ruby, Go, TypeScript, Python, AWS, and Databricks.
- Success establishing new functions or foundational PM positions within organizations.
Compensation & Benefits
- Canadian salary range: CAD 179,000 to CAD 228,000 (ranges reflect local labor benchmarks and can vary by experience and location).
- Comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision, retirement matching, paid leave (vacation, sick days, holidays, winter break, volunteer time, sabbaticals), parental leave, and family support.
- Equity compensation and learning/development opportunities.
- Access to Scribd, Inc. suite of products, workplace wellness stipends, and leading enterprise AI tools.
- Scribd Flex hybrid work model.
Additional Information
- Candidates must reside within commuting range of select cities in the US, Canada (Ottawa, Toronto, Vancouver), or Mexico (Mexico City).
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in hiring.
- Accessibility accommodations available throughout the interview process.
