Role overview
This position sits within the Digital IT team in Dubai, UAE. The selected professional will help manage cloud infrastructure and application administration in a fast-moving environment.
Key responsibilities
- Operate in a DevOps setup and collaborate closely with software engineers to enable fast infrastructure rollouts.
- Provide support for IT operations around the clock, including monitoring systems and responding to incidents.
- Take ownership of cloud-based platforms by handling installation, configuration, patching, and security tasks.
- Continuously watch over applications and infrastructure to maintain availability and stability.
- Investigate incidents and recurring problems and work toward closure within defined service levels.
- Manage application deployments, version upgrades, and other system improvements.
- Support tools and technologies such as Docker, SQL, MongoDB, APIs, and DataOps platforms like StreamSets.
- Assist with environments built on Enterprise Java, VB, and GitHub.
- Carry out installation, administration, and upkeep of Windows and Linux servers.
- Contribute to network administration and related operational support activities.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT Engineering, or another closely related discipline is required.
- At least 3 years of practical experience in cloud infrastructure and cloud services.
- Direct experience working with databases, end-user applications, and general system administration.
- Familiarity with Enterprise Java, VB, and GitHub-based applications.
- Solid understanding of cloud administration tasks, including configuration, patching, and security management.
- IT certifications are considered a plus.
- Ability to work in shifts and remain effective while handling responsibilities independently under pressure.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and time-management abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with internal teams and external stakeholders.
