Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver straightforward, people-centered guidance to managers on matters related to employee relations including performance management, absence, conduct, grievances, and policy issues, with support from the Retail People Partner.
  • Handle employee relations cases such as disciplinary, grievance, capability, and absence, assisting managers throughout the process and ensuring all documentation is precise and compliant.
  • Facilitate investigations and formal meetings by preparing necessary paperwork, arranging meetings, and taking minutes when required.
  • Provide support across the employee lifecycle including probation reviews, family-friendly policies, and flexible working arrangements.
  • Contribute to HR projects like engagement initiatives, organizational change, and updates to policies.
  • Maintain accurate HR records while ensuring compliance with GDPR regulations.
  • Assist in analyzing HR data and identifying trends, like absence rates and employee relations cases, to uncover areas for improvement.
  • Support annual processes such as pay reviews and reward programs by promoting consistency and clear communication.

Candidate Profile

  • Comfortable managing employee relations cases independently.
  • Possession of CIPD Level 5 qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Approachable and practical with strong relationship-building skills for working with managers.
  • Highly organized with keen attention to detail and ability to juggle multiple priorities.
  • Effective and calm communicator who can clearly explain HR procedures.
  • Thrives in a dynamic, hands-on environment.
  • Holds a full UK driving licence and is willing to travel to support gallery locations.

Benefits and Work Environment

  • Hybrid work arrangement: 3 days weekly at Lichfield HQ and 2 days remote.
  • Generous annual leave of 33 days including bank holidays.
  • Contributory pension scheme to support your future.
  • Employee Loyalty Scheme featuring discounts on artworks.
  • Access to discounts across retail, leisure, food, and fitness sectors.
  • Wellbeing support via Employee Assistance Program and 24/7 GP services.
  • Engagement in a broad spectrum of HR activities with mentorship from an experienced People Partner.
