Role Overview

The role of High Risk Permit-to-Work (PTW) Holder is vital in supporting a Baker Hughes project at OLNG, Sur, Oman. The incumbent will oversee the entire Permit-to-Work lifecycle, guaranteeing strict adherence to OLNG Control of Work procedures and maintaining superior health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards during maintenance and shutdown operations.

Responsibilities

• Manage all phases of the Permit-to-Work process, such as application, implementation, suspension, and closure.
• Facilitate daily communication and coordination with Operations teams, HSE personnel, Contractors, and the PTW office.
• Review and confirm Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), Risk Assessments, and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) needs.
• Supervise high-risk tasks including confined space entry, hot work, and lifting activities.
• Lead Toolbox Talks and enforce compliance with health and safety regulations among personnel.
• Safely manage simultaneous operations (SIMOPS) to prevent risk conflicts.
• Ensure all Control of Work standards set by OLNG are consistently met.
• Exercise authority to stop work if hazardous conditions arise to protect personnel and equipment.
• Maintain precise permit records and manage shift handover documentation effectively.

Required Skills and Competencies

• In-depth knowledge and practical experience with Permit-to-Work systems.
• Proficiency in Lockout/Tagout procedures, SIMOPS coordination, and risk evaluation methodologies.
• Ability to interpret piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) and isolation schematics.
• Strong leadership qualities coupled with effective communication skills.
• Capability to coordinate closely with multi-disciplinary teams ensuring seamless operations.
• Dedicated commitment to health, safety, and environmental standards and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Industrial Safety.
• At least 10 years of experience in maintenance or shutdown operations within the Oil & Gas sector.
• Minimum 5 years serving specifically as a High Risk PTW Holder.
• Must hold current and active OLNG High-Risk PTW Authorization (essential requirement).
• Comprehensive understanding of OLNG's Control of Work procedures.
