Job Overview
Great Blue Heron Casino & Hotel is looking to hire a dedicated full-time Housekeeper to maintain the cleanliness and professional appearance of all casino areas. Reporting directly to the Housekeeping Supervisor, the role involves ensuring the facility remains well-presented and welcoming.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional customer service to both internal staff and external guests consistently.
- Maintain a visible presence throughout the casino, ensuring all areas are clean, well-stocked, and free from litter.
- Perform cleaning tasks such as vacuuming, sweeping, scrubbing, mopping, and waxing floors both on schedule and as needed.
- Protect confidential information and exercise caution to prevent unauthorized disclosure or misuse.
- Uphold safety standards by reducing slip, trip, and fall hazards within the casino environment.
- Use cleaning supplies responsibly and ensure proper handling at all times.
- Inspect housekeeping equipment regularly, ensuring it functions correctly; promptly report any issues to the Housekeeping Supervisor.
- Maintain positive relations with casino patrons and colleagues.
- Carry out additional duties assigned by the Housekeeping Supervisor or Facilities Manager.
Qualifications and Experience
- At least one year of commercial cleaning experience preferred.
- Strong commitment to providing top-tier customer service.
- Physical capability to lift up to 50 pounds safely.
- Knowledge of floor care techniques, commercial cleaning products, and Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) standards.
- Effective time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently.
- Maintain confidentiality in all work aspects.
- Self-driven and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
- Clear and effective communication skills in English.
- Ability to manage work demands in a fast-paced setting.
- Complete tasks safely and within set timeframes.
- Must successfully pass a criminal record and credit check conducted by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO).
Additional Information
- The role requires flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and overnight shifts, depending on operational needs.
- Compensation ranges from $19.47 to $24.34 per hour.
