Role Overview
Join Meath Business Podcast as a Financial Controller, based in Kildare, Ireland, in a full-time, onsite position. This role involves managing the company's financial performance alongside the CFO and leading the accounting team to ensure timely, accurate financial reporting and compliance with legislation.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with the CFO to oversee financial results across the company.
- Lead recruitment, training, development, and performance management of the accounting team.
- Supervise monthly management accounts preparation for various regions within set deadlines, providing insightful financial commentary.
- Offer financial guidance and updates to Divisional Heads and Regional Directors.
- Assist in drafting annual regional budgets.
- Guarantee adherence to internal financial controls within each region.
- Implement or propose effective procedures supporting operational, commercial, and financial objectives.
- Coordinate with the accounting team to ensure financial accounts, tax requirements, and payroll are completed timely.
- Engage in and lead process improvement initiatives across departments and divisions.
- Drive enhancements in accounting processes to enable timely information flow supporting business growth.
- Collaborate with the CFO to compile and coordinate board reports from each region for director-level review.
- Provide analysis on monthly financial reporting to inform divisional and regional leaders of variances against budgets.
- Deliver regular updates on key performance indicators.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable accounting and tax laws.
- Continuously challenge existing methods to enhance results.
Candidate Requirements
- ACA or ACCA qualified accountant with at least five years of industry experience.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently.
- Clear and concise communication skills at all organizational levels.
- Proficiency in adapting to new systems.
- Experience auditing and improving processes for better efficiency.
- Strong knowledge of current accounting standards and best practices.
- Essential experience with Sage accounting software.
