Job Overview
Join Four Points by Sheraton in Riyadh as a Commis II, responsible for assisting in food preparation and cooking to maintain high-quality food standards. This entry-level culinary position focuses on preparing ingredients, cooking dishes according to recipes, and supporting kitchen operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients for cooking by portioning, chopping, and storing appropriately.
- Clean, peel, and wash fresh fruits and vegetables for meal preparation.
- Accurately weigh, measure, and mix ingredients to comply with recipes.
- Cook food items using various kitchen equipment like ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers.
- Prepare cold food dishes, and check food quality to ensure proper cooking and presentation.
- Set up and dismantle workstations efficiently at the start and end of shifts.
- Serve food in correct portions using appropriate containers.
- Clean and disinfect kitchen surfaces, tools, knives, and equipment to meet hygiene standards.
- Monitor temperatures of appliances and food to maintain safety and quality standards.
- Comply with safety, security, and company policies, reporting any hazards or accidents promptly.
- Maintain professional personal appearance and confidentiality of proprietary information.
- Collaborate respectfully with colleagues to achieve team goals and respond constructively to workplace concerns.
- Perform physical activities including standing or walking for entire shifts, bending, lifting objects up to 25 pounds, and other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Have at least one year of relevant work experience in food preparation or culinary roles.
- No prior supervisory experience is required.
- Certification or licenses are not mandatory.
