Job description

Role Overview

The Warehouse Manager will oversee all aspects of warehouse operations related to food and beverage products, including dry, fresh, and frozen items. This role entails managing the receipt, secure storage, inventory accuracy, and distribution processes to ensure operational effectiveness and adherence to quality standards. Reporting directly to the Head of Operations, the incumbent will lead the warehouse team and focus on optimizing costs and driving continuous operational improvements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee comprehensive warehouse functions such as receiving, storage, inventory control, order picking, loading, and dispatching.
  • Maximize warehouse space utilization ensuring appropriate storage conditions across various product categories.
  • Maintain precise inventory levels, enforcing FIFO (First In First Out) and FEFO (First Expired First Out) inventory rotation protocols.
  • Coordinate inbound and outbound logistics to guarantee punctual availability and delivery of products.
  • Lead and develop the warehouse team by providing coaching and promoting safety and accountability.
  • Manage workforce planning, performance monitoring, recruitment support, employee training, and performance evaluations.
  • Supervise dispatch operations and coordinate fleet management to ensure timely, cost-efficient deliveries.
  • Track warehouse performance metrics (KPIs) and implement strategies to bolster productivity and service quality.
  • Control warehouse operational costs by optimizing labor, inventory, and other resources.
  • Ensure strict compliance with food safety laws, health and safety protocols, and company policies.
  • Promote continuous process improvements to elevate operational effectiveness and overall warehouse standards.
  • Collaborate closely with Procurement, Sales, Finance, and Quality Assurance teams to align warehouse operations with organizational goals.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned by the Head of Operations.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience in warehouse management, particularly within food and beverage or FMCG sectors.
  • In-depth knowledge of warehouse workflows, inventory control, and distribution management.
  • Proven leadership capabilities and experience managing teams.
  • Proficient with ERP systems and Warehouse Management Systems; familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is advantageous.
  • Sound understanding of food safety standards and warehouse regulatory compliance.
  • Strong organizational, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license is required.
