Virtual Intake Nurse

Role Overview

This remote nursing position supports a partner organization that oversees the application and hiring process. The selected nurse will be based in the United States and will help members move through virtual enrollment and intake for technology-driven care programs aimed at improving chronic metabolic health outcomes.

The role centers on reviewing clinical information, determining program eligibility, and guiding members through a personalized onboarding experience. It combines clinical judgment, member communication, and structured decision-making in a fast-moving digital health setting. You will work closely with nurses, providers, health coaches, and operations colleagues to place each member into the most appropriate program and deliver a smooth, supportive experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate member medical histories, laboratory results, medications, and supporting clinical records to determine whether they qualify for enrollment.
• Use approved intake protocols, decision pathways, and clinical assessment tools to make consistent and accurate enrollment decisions.
• Work with cross-functional care teams, including nurses, providers, health coaches, and operations staff, to create a seamless member onboarding process.
• Refer cases to providers when additional clinical review is needed and confirm correct program placement.
• Use digital systems, dashboards, and tracking tools to keep intake work, documentation, and communication organized and efficient.
• Produce clear and timely clinical documentation while following confidentiality rules, quality expectations, and standard operating procedures.
• Contribute to process improvement efforts, including workflow refinement, quality initiatives, and enhancements to care delivery.

Requirements

• An active, unrestricted Registered Nurse license is required, along with compact licensure; additional state licenses are an advantage.
• At least 4 years of nursing experience is required in one or more of these settings: hospital, ambulatory care, primary care, case management, or health plan environments.
• Background in triage, intake, care coordination, case management, or population health is strongly preferred.
• A Bachelor of Science in Nursing is required; a Master of Science in Nursing is considered a plus.
• Strong clinical assessment ability, including experience with protocols, decision trees, and structured care frameworks, is required.
• Experience with motivational interviewing and patient engagement methods to encourage behavior change and adherence is preferred.
• Comfort using digital health platforms, virtual care tools, and several electronic systems at the same time is necessary.
• Excellent communication, organization, and time-management skills are needed to balance competing priorities.
• Ability to work well in a fast-paced, changing environment with a high level of independence and teamwork is important.
• Spanish fluency is preferred, though not mandatory.
