Role Overview

The Trainee Accountant will provide critical support to UK clients through the preparation of statutory financial statements, year-end accounting procedures, bookkeeping tasks, VAT and payroll reconciliations, and routine accounting operations. The role demands a solid grasp of bookkeeping and tax principles along with fiscal accounting and compliance adherence to deliver accurate financial outcomes punctually.

Key Responsibilities

  • Apply strong bookkeeping and personal tax return knowledge to identify risks, compliance issues, and gaps in processes.
  • Execute year-end accounting and tax closures, including comprehensive reconciliations and adjustment entries.
  • Assist in preparing and reviewing trial balances, conducting general ledger mapping, and analyzing accounts.
  • Perform daily bookkeeping activities such as journal entries, accruals, deferrals, and reconciling bank and ledger statements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve outstanding year-end items and respond to client queries effectively.

Work Arrangement and Shifts

  • Work onsite at the office for the initial six months, transitioning to a hybrid model afterward based on business needs.
  • Training period shift: 11:00 AM to 8:30 PM IST for three months.
  • Post-training shifts adjusted seasonally:
    • Indian Summer: 12:30 PM to 10:00 PM IST
    • Indian Winter: 1:30 PM to 11:00 PM IST
