Working closely with government schools, our Schools Team strives to enhance learning by enabling educators and students to effectively use the Khan Academy platform, reaching over 2.1 million learners and 100,000 teachers across various states.

Role Overview

The Training Lead - Chemistry is a pivotal position responsible for enhancing teacher skills in Andhra Pradesh through a collaborative initiative with UNICEF and the AP education department. This role involves empowering teacher mentors and Chemistry educators via the Khan Academy platform and its AI tool, Khanmigo, to improve learning outcomes for Grades 11 and 12 female students.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement an extensive professional development program for diverse stakeholders including teachers, mentors, and principals.
• Enhance classroom teaching quality and student conceptual understanding by promoting adoption of Khanmigo's AI teaching assistant features.
• Support teachers in utilizing Khanmigo and digital content to explore pedagogical methods and analyze student misconceptions.
• Monitor and analyze student performance data to identify learning gaps and assist teachers in targeted instructional strategies.
• Conduct regular field visits to mentor classrooms to offer detailed feedback, address challenges, and encourage deeper Khan Academy usage.
• Establish a feedback mechanism where mentors evaluate teacher-generated materials to uphold quality standards.
• Collaborate as a subject expert with mentors, integrating AI tools to refine Chemistry teaching and learning.
• Track teacher engagement via platform dashboards and provide additional support as needed.
• Document training activities and contribute insights during program review meetings.
• Provide any other necessary assistance to support the program’s success.

Candidate Profile

• Minimum 5 years of professional experience, including at least 3 years teaching Chemistry at Grades 11 and 12.
• Deep mastery of Grade 11 and 12 Chemistry concepts with proven ability to translate knowledge into effective classroom strategies.
• Fluency in Telugu is required.
• Familiarity or curiosity about educational technology and AI tools; experience with digital teaching platforms is advantageous.
• Willingness to travel extensively within the state (up to 50% monthly) for training and school visits.
• Passionate about education and committed to making a positive social impact.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
• Entrepreneurial approach with comfort in ambiguity, eagerness for experimentation, and a proactive mindset.
