Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Team Leader to guide the Business Advisory team within the Strategic Planning and Assurance Unit at the Ministry of Justice in Wellington. This full-time permanent position involves steering the Group's financial management, planning, and performance activities while delivering high-caliber strategic and operational advice to the Deputy Secretary and Policy Leadership Team.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of Senior Business Advisors to ensure effective support to the Policy Group’s operations.
- Oversee the Group’s financial management and planning cycles to maintain alignment with organizational objectives.
- Provide secretariat services to assist senior leadership in informed decision-making.
- Foster collaborative working relationships with senior leaders and external partners to support business functions.
- Support a diverse portfolio encompassing financial planning, workforce analytics, and governance.
Requirements and Experience
- Demonstrated leadership skills with experience managing teams in a business advisory setting.
- Strong financial management and work program planning capabilities.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Highly effective relationship management skills for cross-unit and external collaboration.
- Tertiary degree in a relevant discipline or substantial equivalent experience.
- Legal right to work in New Zealand.

Compensation
The salary range for this position is set between $130,129 and $168,062 annually, commensurate with skills and experience.
