Position overview
Walmart Canada is hiring a Stockperson/Cartpusher in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. This role is centered on keeping carts moving safely and efficiently, supporting customers on the sales floor and in the parking area, and helping maintain a clean, orderly store environment. It is a strong fit for someone interested in retail or customer service and looking to build practical skills in a fast-paced setting.
What you will handle
- Gather shopping carts from the cart corrals, parking lot, and store perimeter, then return them to the designated storage area using approved store procedures and completing the required logs.
- Provide prompt support at the registers, including helping customers with carry-outs or carry-ins and checking receipts when proof of purchase is needed.
- Carry out scheduled cleaning and light maintenance of restrooms, including safe handling of chemicals, proper disposal practices, and use of powered equipment after completing the required inspection report.
- Follow safety and emergency rules, including procedures for hazardous communication, lockout/tagout, and blood-borne pathogen handling.
- Keep the Cart Retrieval Log current at the Customer Service Desk.
- Help maintain a work area that is safe, clean, and free of hazards by following company policies and operating procedures.
- Use required personal protective equipment, including steel-toe footwear and a reflective vest, while collecting carts to stay visible and protected.
- Complete safety sweeps when needed.
Pay
The starting wage for this position is $17.15 per hour.
Minimum qualifications
Applicants must be at least 16 years old.
