Position Overview
Joining Walmart Canada as a Stockperson/Cartpusher offers an excellent opportunity to enhance your abilities within the retail field. Your primary responsibility will be retrieving shopping carts from designated areas such as cart corrals, the parking lot, and store surroundings, then securing them in designated storage locations while providing remarkable customer service.
Key Duties
- Collect shopping carts from various outdoor and indoor locations, returning them safely using approved procedures and completing required documentation.
- Promptly respond to requests from register areas, aid customers with carrying items in or out, and verify purchase receipts.
- Perform occasional maintenance and cleaning of restrooms, which includes safe handling of chemicals, proper disposal, and use of power equipment following inspection protocols.
- Adhere strictly to safety and emergency guidelines covering hazardous materials communication, lockout/tagout procedures, and blood-borne pathogen awareness.
- Keep an accurate Cart Retrieval Log at the Customer Service Desk.
- Help maintain a safe, tidy, and hazard-free workplace by following company policies thoroughly.
- Ensure personal safety by wearing steel-toe footwear and high-visibility reflective vests during cart collection activities.
- Conduct safety sweeps periodically as needed.
Compensation
The starting hourly pay for this position is $16.15.
