Role Overview
Seeking a seasoned Senior Project Manager to join a dynamic team expanding in Canterbury. This role involves overseeing a varied portfolio of civil infrastructure projects, ensuring excellence in delivery, stakeholder collaboration, and team leadership across drainage, utilities, earthworks, roading, and related civil works.
Key Duties
- Steer the execution of civil infrastructure initiatives including drainage, utilities, earthworks, and roadworks.
- Oversee project scheduling, allocation of resources, budgeting, and subcontractor coordination.
- Guarantee projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with contract terms.
- Enhance commercial outcomes via precise forecasting, adhering to cost controls, and managing risks.
- Forge and sustain robust partnerships with clients, consultants, local councils, and other stakeholders.
- Lead and mentor Project Engineers, Site Managers, and delivery teams to foster success.
- Promote superior standards in quality, safety, and environmental care within all operations.
- Detect and implement opportunities for ongoing improvement and operational effectiveness.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum of 10 years' experience in civil construction environments.
- Demonstrable success managing medium to large-scale civil infrastructure projects.
- Comprehensive knowledge of drainage, water, wastewater, utilities, earthworks, or road construction sectors.
- Proficient commercial management and project control skills.
- Strong leadership aptitude with experience in team motivation and development.
- Solid grasp of construction contracts and risk management principles.
- Proven record of delivering projects on schedule, within financial plans, and safety standards.
- Excellent skills in communication and stakeholder engagement.
Compensation & Benefits
- Annual salary between NZD 150,000 to 170,000, supplemented by a vehicle, performance-based bonus, and additional benefits.
